Cet ordre est à la fois Royal et Souverain, s'enracine spirituellement en Notre Dame du Mont Carmel et dans la volonté de ses rois fondateurs. Le principe royal, ainsi que l'état chevaleresque qui transcende les époques, conjuguent nature militaire et dimension spirituelle. Tout Ordre de chevalerie est indissociable du principe royal qui assure sa fondation et sa légitimité ainsi que de la chevalerie sur laquelle il repose et qu'il transmet. Puisse ce livre en réveiller l'esprit.

"The Chivalry" by Pierre Vial DEFI editions, Boulogne-Billancourt, 1998 Pierre Vial was born in 1942 and became with that book written in 1998 the great university specialist of this vast subject of research whiich must continue to live. We knew the term "Paganist" for him and we were surprised to find that through the Royal Chivalry he defends Christian values. The "theology of war" (op.cit page 97) is not only directed against the Jews "deicidés"(a french neologism meaning "fearfull of Him",op.cit.page 110) but also against the diabolical women (idem) and effeminates. Then the soul of Arthur can rest in peace and it "can be led to Avalon, the enchanted island, on a boat guided by three fairies "(op.cit.page 92) But Godefroy de Bouillon" seems to embody the ideal of chivalry such that it has been revised and corrected by the church "(op.cit, page 112) and the good monk Bernard" shows himself misogynist in accusing the knights of being effeminate (op.cit.page 133). But a little further the same Bernard adds "they are courteous to each other and practice the law of Christ by helping each other" (idem). Since we do not have the Grace or the Power to perform miracles we would like to emphasize the last sentence of this beautiful essay: "Chivalry is absent from our society, but is it from the heart of men?"
